Guidelines

Arts and cultural groups that regularly perform or exhibit in the south Hampton Roads area are eligible to apply for Business Consortium for Arts Support grants. Applicants must perform or exhibit in Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk or Virginia Beach or in Isle of Wight or Southampton counties. Applicants must be non-profits with 501 (c) (3) status from the Internal Revenue Service.

Before submitting a new grant application, we highly encourage you contact our office at 383-6047 to discuss eligibility and availability.

The 2015 grant request application for general operating support is now available for download below.  Please be sure to read instructions as submission rules have changed.  All grants are due Friday, February 13, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.  Grants submitted after this time will NOT BE ACCEPTED.

In 2014 the Business Consortium for Arts Support awarded $715,500 to 33 arts and cultural groups that regularly perform or exhibit in south Hampton Roads. Since 1987 the Consortium has contributed more than $19.2 million to area arts and cultural organizations.
